MOVEVOM // a short film featuring Barak Ballet company

This series reflects my experience working working with the dance community in Los Angeles over the last 4 years. The works themselves are hand-made glass sculptures with transparency film imagery embedded. It’s a continuation of previous works with optic elements that seek to project photographs in 3 dimensions as a visual experience independent of digital interface.

The Winter Show

Bassim Al Shaker is opening a new gallery space inside of a new Broadstone development located one block East of Phoenix Art Museum. Green Leaf Gallery will be his studio, project space and a gallery venue for specially curated exhibitions. This is the inaugural show and will include many great artists including Fausto Fernandez, Abbey Mesmer, Bill Dambrova and Colin Chillag. Bassim has maintained a gallery space for many years in Phoenix, including one that was subject to a robbery of his art. This space is new and exciting and is being renovated with his direction by the property owners. It stands as an offering back to the arts community in the midst of an evaporating arts district to make way for development of real estate. I have made three pieces for this exhibition, all of which will be on view for the first time.
