The Artists Grants Program fosters the creation of contemporary art by encouraging and assisting emerging artists living in Arizona. Each year CF awards up to seven grants to emerging artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, installation, mixed media, photography or video. The grant is designed to assist artists who will significantly benefit from public recognition and financial support.
Recipients are selected through a juried competition process. The grants are presented to the winners at the Awards Presentation at Phoenix Art Museum in May. At this event, the recipients discuss their work while the images submitted for the competition are displayed. Current recipients will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at Phoenix Art Museum in May of the following year.
The grants are made possible through the Nathan Cummings Foundation Endowment and funds from Contemporary Forum. Established in 1986, the Artists Grants Program has awarded 170 grants to emerging artists totaling over $205,000.
